Teeth grinding = Morning headaches!

Apparently I sometimes grind my teeth while I sleep and Jonah's stopped me a few times, mid-grind. It's unfortunate that I'm such a stress case even while I sleep - one's nature is a bitch, isn't it?!

Any suggestions for for the teeth grinder??

P.S. All my teeth have become nubs.

ugh, i have the same thing. it really affects my quality of life, with jaw-to-eye-to-head aches eventually. apparently its very common in young white women, similar to TMJ. my advice is to go to your dentist to get a custom mouth guard. drawbacks are that it's pricey, and possibly the least hot thing since granny panties to wear to bed. but it truly does help the headaches.

AH.com: Oh no - it's the young while female affliction! I of course also had TMJ several years ago. I will look into the mouthguard and once I have that I'll (try to) stop wearing my granny panties to bed :-) Thanks for your help!

Agreed, stress cases need a bite guard / mouth splint. It's a bit granny but helps.

Better yet, you get to buy polident in the grocery store. Nothing like picking up a case of denture cleaner to feel sexy.

It's far better than being a snorer!

As a recovered grinder, it is not often I get to spout my wisdom on how to stop gnashing and start loving your molars!
I wore out three mouth guards and still believe they made the grinding worse. While I agree guards are tough to call sexy, they are treatment and do protect the last bit of enamel hanging on your gums which is good, while you are working on cure.
The ultimate strategy that worked for me was to quit chewing gum and get a series of decent facial massages to encourage my strong jaw to relax. I tried Rolfing and it changed my life.
Now, three years clean of the nightly grind, I still stand by the massage strategy and the switch to mints for freshness.
I would avoid having your lovely bedmate be a part of the cure as it often leads to layers of intimacy that are not sustainable.
Stress management is something to consider too (what ever that means). While I no longer grind, anxiety dreams seem to be the new thing, but they don’t wreck my smile!
Good Luck.

I was the proud owner of a grind guard and believe that they are very effective. Unfortunately, since they cost $600 and are rarely covered by insurance, I have yet to replace the one I left in a Cozumel hotel. Sadly, when I called they had not found it and kept it safe. More likely, they found it and went "ewwww."

i totally relate to you and your teeth grinding problem!
i used to wear a mouth guard but found it wasn't super helpful. i don't have an answer to the headache problem, but your dentist can 're-enamel' your teeth periodically when you are grinding them down to nubs so that you aren't also dealing with super sensitive teeth and exposed nerve endings etc.
if you come up with a way to stop grinding the teeth - please post!!

I have the same issue, my dentist said to not stress so much (so like, how do I do that??) He suggested a bite plate to wear at night..

Had a night guard and chewed a hole through it. Went to a dentist, an ENT, a physical therapist. One doctor told me to take Ativan at night. The only thing that really helped was cranial sacral therapy. It's like a weird energy treatment which culminates with the therapist digging your jaw muscles out with a rubber glove on. Sounds weird. Is weird. But it works.

My husband has the same ailment. He has gone through three mouth guards. It does indeed ummmm..... change the mood when in the mouth however, it is an easy remedy and he feels he sleeps better at night not worrying about his teeth. The guard is good and when you soak it in denture cleaner and your spouse starts referring to your guard as dentures. Remember it's all in good clean fun. hehehehe

Great news! Courtney Stodden is employed by way of shaking her boobies in a mermaid costume for freecreditscore.com. Are you buying what she's so desperately selling?
The new one.
Shame on all of you.
