I just adore Giulietta Masina. Her expressive face completely takes a hold of me and turns me into a kid glued to the TV. The person most reminiscent of her living today is of course Amy Sedaris - clearly I have a soft soft for empathetic clowns with unusually expressive faces.

fellini always used her perfectly -- juxtaposing her child-like appearance with either a gritty personality or surroundings -- every frame just has you fall in love with her again and again. . .
and can you imagine not only being married to fellini -- but dying a mere 5 months after he died? oh god -- the beauty. . .
