The case itself anchors the "Bell Curve of the Unbelievable". Regardless, there are just way too many tragedies associated with this young girl's untimely death - the media frenzy about her being a beauty pageant contestant at age six, the parents' suspicion in her murder by law enforcement agents, her mother’s similarly untimely death, and now... this freak of a teacher!

He has those vacant and lost eyes – you know – 13 rooms “up there” but no furniture. Paraphrasing… I loved her [yet raped and strangled her] and her death was an accident. Those are his words mostly. They extend the already ugly range of the phrase “crimes of passion”, if he stands by his statements. While he loved her, did he mean to put the family through what they’ve had to experience for the past almost ten years…?

“A done bun can’t be undone.” But atonement is needed here for JonBenet and her family.
