Using New England-speak and in a word, "Wicked!"
I had the good fortune and timing to travel west to Syracuse from New England on business (along the Thruway) yesterday afternoon and evening. What a delight! The intensity of the rain was identical to what I've heard impacted Massachusetts and New Hampshire in mid-May. And the results were pretty much the same - floods. I-90, I-81, I-88, RT 17, RT 20, etc... Very closed, a little closed, closed, laughable, "Good Luck", etc... (respectively).
Unlike Noah, I did not build "THE" Ark, and Home Depot was fresh out of marine plywood anyway. As a result, Syracuse is "graced" yet again with my presence. A burden that must be born... by Syracuse. I'm avoiding the eight-hour route through the Adirondacks to enter New England via Vermont for a northern New England destination - that's just plain silly - unless you're a tourist, which are permitted silliness at their leisure. I’m digressing, though…
And just like Annie, I do believe (or at least hope) that, "The sun'll come out tomorrow...", although I'm not betting my bottom dollar based upon the forecast for upstate New York on Thursday – some heavy rain, more showers and (sure, why not) T-storms.
