Yay for Massachusetts!!

Finally, people are coming around to their senses...hopefully Massachusetts is just the beginning of a trend among states.

High Court in Massachusetts Rules Gays Have Right to Marry

Isn't Howard Dean against same sex marriages?

Posted by: Chris at November 19, 2003 1:37 PM

No he is not. He is realistic about the country's current political climate so has framed it as same sex unions-as you may know, he signed legislation to recognize same sex unions in VT.

Andrea,

Um, how can you say that he supports gay marriage when he said "[gay marriage] makes me uncomfortable, the same as anybody else"...he could have endorsed gay marriage, as both the Lt. Governor and House Speaker did.

http://slate.msn.com/id/2086952/

Furthermore, he had little choice on the VT same sex unions, as the VT Supreme Court decision required legislation (I suspect the Founding Fathers would be a littled miffed, that is, the Judicial Branch making law)

I guess one can say he supports civil unions, but he clearly stops short of supporting gay marriages and I doubt he would endorse such if elected President.

Cheers,
Chris

Andrea--what a great site--loved everything on it! WHOA! I'm shocked and bummed about Spike and Sophia. I want him to direct the movie of my book, as soon as I get it written! Have to disagree about Howard Dean running our country. I'm a radical democrat living in freakin' Texas ( not easy ) but I gotta tell ya'--Dean's an idiot. He hasn't got a chance after the strange driving of his bus into a building, and the wacky screaming fit. Hate to tell you, it doesn't matter how many apathetic Dems. get up off the couch to vote--we're looking at 4 more miserable years with George. Thanks for a great website!! Really appreciate your creativity! Love, Robin

BuzzFeed
As many Catholics, including John Boehner, are outraged over the new rule that religious-affiliated organizations must cover birth control in their health care plans, Luke Russert tweeted about how birth control is perceived by many students at Catholic universities. Though anecdotal, his experience is interesting.
Roland S. Martin is about to have even more time to tweet. That's because CNN announced this afternoon that Martin, a contributor to the network, has been suspended indefinitely following a pair of homophobic tweets he wrote during last Sunday's Super Bowl (which, as BuzzFeed pointed out, were representative of a larger anti-gay pattern of his).
Sans Matt Damon. Still, Jeremy Renner's mug is reason enough to check out the fourth installment in Universal's spy thriller.
