Mister Softee Lies

Boys and Girls of America, let this be a lesson to you all, in the ways of Marketing and Lies.

Upon exiting the MACASSO (Matisse-Picasso) exhibit at MOMA QNS (this first time visit to Queens makes me feel like I can finally buy one of those cool "Give It Up for Queens" T-shirts I've been eyeing!!!), we witnessed this ice cream truck and hoped that Mister Softee would come through on his promises but alas, EMPTY promises...

soft serve is no serve

Looks like you got the WRONG item.
The treat shown on the truck decal is a Strawberry Sundae, I do believe.
It should be covered in a strawberry syrup which includes actual strawberries.
What you hold in your hand is a simple dish of soft serve, with the strawberry candy shell that hardens, when it hits the cold.
That shell is usually used on cones, not in dishes of ice cream?!? It could be that the particular driver, didn't have the right stuff on board, or worse yet he shows an old sticker for a product he doesn't even offer on his truck, or could just be a mistake. I wouldn't give up on Mister Softee just yet! Try a double cone, half dipped in chocolate shel and half in strawberry!

Mr. Softee is a PERV !!!!

Not all Mister Softee trucks try to stiff small children and adults. I think it is unecessary to create a web page insulting all ice cream trucks that people and kids enjoy. I grew up on Mister Softee and my children as well. We live in Woodhaven on 75th Street and have the greatest ice cream man and service. Our children can't wait until the Ice cream season to get on occasion free ice cream and Mister Softee novelty's. It is true that not all ice cream trucks serve the greatest ice cream. But were happy with out neighborhood Mister Softee. Andrea Harner obviously has too much time on her hands. I agree with Anil's posting that she may be from Mars and this was her first time visit to Queens.

Emily,

Thanks for defending Mister Softee. I grew up selling Mister Softee. And owned a truck for several years oddly enough starting at Elderts Lane and running into brooklyn as far a Euclid Ave. I always tried to give my customers a fair SHAKE (to use a play on words). If they were not satisfied they got their money back.
Some venders did not do the right thing but most served a Quality product. BY THE WAY MY SUNDAES HAD STRAWBERRIES IN THEM!! -- TAKE CARE --CHIP,(MR. SOFTEE CYPRESS HILLS - CITY LINE 1968-1978)
